Our Camp
Pine Springs Ranch (PSR) is a Christian camp and retreat center owned and operated by the Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. PSR is located on 481 acres near Mountain Center, CA, in the San Jacinto Mountains. Our site was purchased in 1961, replacing a 16-acre facility in nearby Idyllwild. Originally built to be a ranch-style summer camp, it has grown into one of the largest and most modern camp and conference centers of its kind on the West Coast.
PSR has several buildings on site. The main Lodge contains two floors of hotel-like rooms and two meeting rooms on the bottom floor. There is also a large lobby and loft in the center of the Lodge. Next door to the Lodge is the camp's Cafeteria which is PSR's largest meeting location. The third indoor meeting location is the Multi-Purpose Building which is split into two meeting rooms. PSR has two sets of cabins, North and South Village. These cabins are used for Summer Camp and other retreats. The Villages each have a central bathhouse. Other buildings on site include The Nature Center, The Pool, Town Hall, The Horse Barn, The Maintenance Facilities, and several staff homes. There are two outdoor meeting areas, Church Bowl and Campfire Bowl.
This year we are adding several new destination camps, exciting activities, and programs that are specially designed to fit into our mission of "Calling campers to Christ."

Our Goals for Campers
- We want campers to have a safe, positive, & Christian experience in the great outdoors.
- We want campers to practice decision-making skills and experience a taste of independence.
- We want campers to meet positive Christian role models, young adults who are setting a good example for your child every day.
- We want campers to get away from social media, console games, and computers for just a few days.
- We want campers to make new friends.
- We want campers to try new things, experiencing success or failure in a safe place.
Signs of Quality
- PSR Camp carefully selects every person who joins our seasonal camp team by requiring a detailed application, interview, references, and background check.
- All staff are required to participate in 10 days of staff training every season in order to best prepare them to serve our guests.
- All ropes course staff, archery staff, drivers & trip staff receive additional training. All lifeguards are certified and then skill tested at PSR Camp before they are permitted to supervise the aquatics areas at camp.
- All counselors and most staff (over 90% of employees) are CPR & First Aid certified. All counselors are at least 18 years of age.
- In 2019, over 94% of parents who participated in our annual survey self-reported that they had a 'positive' or 'very positive' impression of PSR Camp.
Made for Change
This summer, our theme is “Made for Change,” which is based on one of our Youth Department’s Core Values: Innovation. Referencing Jeremiah 18:3-6 (NIV): So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.
